PERFORMANCES

The first performance of a piece by David Pennycuick was given as an encore at the 75th anniversary concert of the Sunderland Pianoforte Society on 13th February 2018.  The piece was “Lily Scott’s Polka” and the pianist was Viv McLean.

Four of the Preludes (nos.20,21,24,6) were performed by Korean pianist Grace Yeo on 19th November 2019, again at the Sunderland Pianoforte Society.  A live recording was made and appears on the page 24 PRELUDES.

An online performance of “Hopak” was given on 23rd November 2020, by the pianist Maria Marchant in her series “7 Notes in 7 Days at 7 p.m.”  The recording of this is on Maria’s YouTube channel at   https://youtu.be/JBRiHQODNrY   I recorded a short introduction to the piece, which is at   https://youtu.be/JoZe6MSw1tY

The “Scherzo” and the “Theme & Variations in E flat” were performed by Viv McLean as part of his recital on 21st September 2021 at the Sunderland Pianoforte Society.  A live recording of the latter appears on the page CLASSICAL PIECES.

Prelude no.14 was played as an encore on 20th May 2023 by Callum McLachlan at the Sunderland Pianoforte Society.

John Paul Ekins played the “Romanza” (Op 10/3) and “Intermezzo 3” (Op 26/3) as part of his recital on 26th September 2023, again at the Sunderland Pianoforte Society.  A live recording of the Romanza appears on the page POSTMODERN PIECES.
